After a 2-year break, the IPM took place again in Essen from 01/24-27/23.

According to the organizers, it can be considered a complete success. Following the "Taspo" magazine more than 40,000 trade visitors came to Essen, 1,330 exhibitors were present.

As expected, the topic of “sustainability” in production and in general was very much at stake, but innovative sales concepts, marketing and social media in the green sector were also shown, for example.

"The importance of IPM Essen for the global green industry has remained high even after the pandemic," said Oliver P. Kuhrt, Managing Director of Messe Essen.

One had the impression that all the participants on site were happy to show up or be seen again in Essen. However, there was also a sense of uncertainty among the participants in terms of some missing exhibitors, some of whom had only canceled shortly before the start of the trade fair. No wonder, since the pandemic taught us to do a lot through online meetings and digital solutions.

What was striking about the plants on display were the many so-called “green climate heroes” across all ranges that can cope with drought, heat and heavy rain. Also in focus were plants that can be used as food for insects or stand out due to other characteristics, such as fragrance.

Innovative, new sales concepts, brand relaunches and marketing activities could be admired not only in the IPM Discovery Center, but also at many exhibition stands. The Speakers' Corner dealt with marketing and social media in the green sector, among other things. Also a must for many visitors: the IPM innovation showcase. There were also many awards here. The area of floristry was again strongly represented this year.

One of the clients of Media Concept and Gregg Marketing was represented in both exhibition areas (Discovery Center and Novelty Showcase) - the company Cultivaris. In the run-up to the show, brochures, roll-up banners and labels were created for the perfect trade show appearance, as some of the pictures show.

All in all, it was probably a successful trade fair for the organizers as well as for exhibitors and visitors, with a predominantly positive response and the announcement that they would be there again in 2024. By the way, the IPM will then be 40 years old.
